Every painter on the routing list has applied through us and uploaded real proof. Jordan reviews each application personally before any leads route to that painter.
Painters upload a current WCB-Alberta clearance letter when they apply. We don't activate anyone whose clearance has expired or is missing.
We require a certificate of insurance showing $1M minimum general liability with a current expiry date. We track policy expiry and de-activate painters whose coverage lapses.
Applicants submit a screenshot or PDF of their current City of Calgary business licence. Painters operating without one don't get routed leads.

Book Andre on Calgary Mentors →Interior averages $3.50–$6 per sqft of floor area in 2026 — that's $2,800–$5,500 for a typical 1,400 sqft bungalow. Exterior is $4–$8 per sqft of wall area, with multi-storey 25–55% higher. Cabinet refinishing on an average kitchen runs $2,800–$5,500. Our calculator above gives a tighter estimate based on your project.
Materials for a DIY interior repaint of a 1,400 sqft home run $400–$800. A pro quote covers labour (60–70% of the cost) plus prep, ladder/scaffold rental, and higher-grade paint. DIY makes sense for small rooms and refresh jobs. For whole-house, ceilings, and exteriors, a pro saves time and avoids costly mistakes.
Mid-May through early September. Calgary needs at least 10°C overnight for paint to cure properly, and you want to avoid the chinook-driven temperature swings of late fall. June is the busy season — book in March or April to get your preferred contractor.
Calgary doesn't require a painter-specific licence, but legitimate contractors should carry WCB-Alberta coverage, $1M general liability insurance, and a City of Calgary business licence. Always ask for proof. Every painter we route quotes to has uploaded current copies of all three to us when they applied, and we re-check expiry dates before sending each lead.
3-bedroom bungalow interior: 3–5 working days for a 2-person crew. Whole-house with ceilings and trim: 5–8 days. Cabinet refinishing adds 4–7 days because of cure time. Exterior is weather-dependent — figure 4–7 working days for a typical 2-storey home.
About the rates: Pulled from CHBA-Alberta member surveys, Canadian Painting Contractors Association rate guides, and published quote ranges of national franchises (CertaPro, WOW 1 DAY, Five Star) operating in Calgary.
